Richard Broder

Partner

Richard Broder is a founder and one of the partners of Broder Sachse Real Estate. In his current role, he is responsible for the company’s strategic activities. Under his leadership, Broder Sachse Real Estate has grown from a start-up business to a full-service third-party property management, acquisition, and development company. Having sold the third-party business in 2017, Broder Sachse Real Estate now manages its portfolio, which currently has an AUM of about $350 million.

Rich is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies. Upon graduation, he joined Farbman Stein and Company as a property manager and became Executive Vice President of Farbman Stein. Rich and Todd Sachse formed Broder Sachse Real Estate in 1993.

Rich is involved in a variety of community and charitable organizations. Currently, at the Jewish Federation of Detroit, he is a past co-chair of the Israel and Overseas Allocation Committee, and he also served as the past chairman of their Partnership2Gether Steering Committee. Additionally, Rich is a board member of JAFINA and JAFI’s Partnership Global Council and serves as Board Secretary of the Board of Governors of the Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit. He is a committee member of the Jewish Agency for Israel Board of Governors. He’s held numerous other positions in the community, including the past president of the Hebrew Free Loan Association of Metropolitan Detroit and the International Association of Hebrew Free Loans.

As an avid fan of the arts, Rich serves as the Vice Chairman of the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Friends of Modern and Contemporary Art department. Before this position, he was the treasurer of the Department of Drawings, Prints, and Photography Board.

Rich lives in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, with his wife, Lisa, and has two grown children living in Chicago.
